With nearly 5 million voluntary repatriation of Afghan Refugees, there is still a high number of of Afghan Refugees living in Pakistan which are in need of assistance and support: in “Refugee Affected areas”, this led to the two components of RAHA Program namely:
Led by Economic Affairs Division/UNDP through Planning and Development Department headed by Additional Chief Secretary of their respective provinces. Implementation is done by the communities through Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Village Support Organizations (VSOs), and Local Support Organizations (LSOs).
Led by Ministry of State and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) /UNHCR through their respective provincial Commissionerate of Afghan Refugees (CARs). Implementation of projects is done by the Government Line Departments and NGOs/INGOs. RAHA Secretariat/RAHA cell acts as a bridge between Government of Pakistan, the UN agencies and donors and facilitate balanced decisions on inter-linked RAHA issues. The RS/Cell aims to provide leadership, coordination and guidance on all matters pertaining to the smooth implementation of the RAHA Program.
